Brief Job Description:
The Accountant is responsible for handling the General Ledger, analyzing and recording financial information to ensure transactions are accounted for in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, company policies and procedures; ensuring accuracy and fair presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements; preparing reports and providing initial responses to inquiries by the internal and external auditors and government regulatory agencies. Will also be responsible for the preparation and filing on monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns. The role will also be supporting statutory and taxation projects of manufacturing, support and engineering business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and submission of financial and statutory reports to the BIR, SEC, PEZA and other regulatory bodies
- Preparation and posting of accounting entries and performs month-end closing activities
- Preparation and analysis of accounting schedules, and assist the internal and external auditors during audits and make sure that required documents re provided based on agreed timelines
- Performs bank reconciliation and cash disbursements audit
- Preparation and filing of Tax returns and documents with the BIR
- Coordination and liaison with the BIR and local government on statutory requirements, permits and licenses
- Preparation and analysis of hedge estimates and forex changes
- Preparation of monthly pension contributions and HMO balances reports
- Works with teams in the organization on projects with statutory (SEC, PEZA) and BIR/taxation requirements
- Works with finance/accounting team to identify opportunities for improving processes and efficiency
- Other ad hoc reports and projects with statutory requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant; Open to CPALE passers with 0 experience
- At least 1 year experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting or Taxation
- Highly knowledgeable in Accounting standards and principles
- Proficient in MS Office applications particularly on MS Excel and PowerPoint. SAP knowledge or experience is a plus
