How will you make an impact?

Working within a high performing Finance Team of our matrix structured organization , this significant and challenging role will see you take full ownership of key accounting requirements.

This role will be responsible for the delivery of the monthly close, reconciliations and reporting requirements.

This is a great role for an Accountant who has a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude and wishes to get involved in many finance avenues with a heavy focus in inventory and material management. This is a full-time permanent role based in Brisbane.

What will you do?

  • Manage WIP and ensure all relevant costs are billed to support cost plus contracts with customers (Raw Mats).
  • Support Project Managers with their deferred revenue position and reconciling Raw Materials alongside them.
  • Prepare accurate monthly journals to ensure monthly results are produced in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Oversee stock movements/management interaction with Balance Sheet
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly BAS / Office of state revenue
  • Prepare, lodge and register FBT annually and when required
  • Complete Profit and Loss analysis
  • Support Controller with ad-hoc requirements.
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly accruals
  • Manage the maintenance of the chart of accounts.
  • Ensure processes are well documented

How will you get here?

Qualifications And Experience

  • CA/CPA Qualification
  • Experience preparing accurate information for auditors.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Extensive experience in preparing month-end and year-end results to meet statutory and business reporting requirements and timeline.
  • Accounting software experience (e.g. SAP by Design).

Skills & Attributes

  • Thorough knowledge of standard accounting procedures and principles.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders. Attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to execute to deadlines.
  • Ability to work with the pressure of multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Intermediate technical skills in Microsoft Excel.
