Account Manager – REMOTE

As an Account Manager you will be joining a growing team, some who have been on the team for 4+ years and others who joined as recently as last month. You will be an integral part of a team that awards ingenuity, hard work, and values personal growth. After two weeks of training, you will be managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of small business clients.

The title ���������Account Manager��������� is purposeful. It���������s about the relationship, not a transaction. You will be interacting with people, from hundreds of industries throughout the US. You will begin your journey at SmartBiz by meeting and engaging them. Listening and communication are characteristics you must already possess because it is critical that you understand your clients’ financing needs and help them work through the intricacies of the lending process. You will gather documentation, perform a basic cash flow analysis, educate small business customers on the financial products available for their specific business and situation, and ideally help them get to the next stage – and ultimately – funding.

(Multiple opportunities available for this role; entry-level (Bachelor���������s only) and associate/mid-level (Bachelor’s plus experience.)

How You Will Make An Impact:

  • Represent the SmartBiz brand by buiwith a diverse customer base; build strong relationships via phone, email, chat, and within our online application
  • Educate potential borrowers on the various benefits of obtaining funding through SmartBiz on and off-platform lenders, and be able and willing to explain basic financial terms in clear language
  • Be extremely well versed on our products and sales processes, resulting in increased quarterly loans originated; your relationships should result in repeat business
  • Utilize our unrivaled technology to help customers complete their small business loan applications
  • Gather, review, evaluate, and verify financial documents, such as business and personal tax returns, income statements, balance sheets, bank statements, and credit reports, etc.
  • Make educated decisions based on a simple analysis of the application on which path or product will be the best fit for the small business customer and, in some cases, facilitate the overall funding of the customer
  • Work with the SmartBiz team to incorporate customer feedback into ongoing product and service enhancements
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly origination goals

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor���������s degree or 2+ years of professional customer-facing experience in technology sales, fintech, finance, lending or similar
  • Effective communicator who can quickly develop rapport and motivate customer action
  • Independent thinker with proven ability to analyze data, make recommendations, and route customers to the right solutions
  • A passion for becoming an authority in your field
  • High level of intrinsic motivation, organization, and personal responsibility
  • SBA experience is a plus, but not required
