Tdh :

Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh), with headquarters in Lausanne and an office in Zurich, is the leading Swiss organisation for child rights. In 2022, we supported 2.6 million children and members of their communities around the world. We trained people who in turn supported a further 4.5 million children and members of their communities.

To make a difference, we focus our efforts in the areas of children and youth on the move and access to justice programs, on maternal and child health and on specific expertise: Protection, WASH and innovation. We encourage the active participation of children and young people to empower them. We advocate for their rights and support them in expressing their needs and interests. We work in fragile contexts and conflict zones, as well as in more stable environments.

Context :

In MENA, Tdh is present in 8 countries, with teams based in Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, working closely with regional and national partners.

Responsibilities :

  • Under the supervision of the Access to Justice Program Manager, he/she ensures the program roll-out at the regional level and guarantee the regional impact of Terre des hommes in Access to Justice .
  • He / she demonstrates ethical and exemplary leadership to maintain the Foundation’s good reputation.
  • He / she in charge of developing and consolidating the program in the region, as well as securing required resources (financial and human).
  • He / she structures the program in the region and delegations in collaboration with the MENA portfolio.
  • He / she develops and fosters innovation within the program in their region.
  • He / she supports the implementation of the insurance and quality-control system for the program’s projects in the region.
  • He / she ensure the program’s implementation of knowledge management and sharing in the MENA region.
  • He / she develops the program’s strategic partnerships in MENA.

Profile :

Education :

Higher education degree in law.

Experience & Competencies :

  • At least 10 years-experience in coordination and implementation of access to justice projects, within NGOs and/or International Organizations, in international cooperation and/or humanitarian context.
  • Very good knowledge and understanding of non-custodial measures, plural legalism, gender justice and social cohesion (paralegals systems, prevention of violent extremism).
  • Significant experience in developing partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and mobilizing re-sources.
  • Excellent public speaking skills (conference, workshop) and ability to adapt to different audiences (governments and local authorities).
  • Significant experience in programme/project management and team management.
  • Experience in writing project proposals and managing grants, fundraising, and good knowledge of funding partners.
  • Good knowledge and experience of the project management and M&E cycle.
  • Relevant experience in the MENA region.

Languages :

Proficiency in English. Arabic and French an asset.

IT :

High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Conditions:

  • Swiss Labour Law contract
  • Gross monthly salary between CHF 5’300.- and CHF 5’700.- depending on experience – x13,36 months
  • Insurances: sickness, accident, repatriation
  • Annual leaves: 25 days/year
  • Flights to duty station and back
