Improbable

The Multiplayer Group (MPG) are 300 developers and data scientists, helping our clients and partners build 20+ AAA projects at any one time. We’re probably the most experienced multiplayer dev group in the world and we’re set up to help the games industry make games more easily, to deliver the highest quality, and become long-term partners.

We hire the best people, our talented team is spread across the globe. We’re remote-friendly and big on wellbeing, so if you love the sound of us, we’d love to hear from you!

At MPG, we are very proud to say that we are working with some of the biggest game development studios in the world and over the last four years we have continued to grow. To build on this, and as part of the next stage of our growth, we’re launching the MPG Academy.

MPG Academy is a dedicated programme to allow individuals to acquire first-hand knowledge and expertise in the world of video game development. It is open to those who would like to take their first steps into the gaming industry.

So how does it work?

  • You will join us as an Academy Software Engineer, on a 3 month fixed-term contract, which is a full-time paid position with us.
  • Whilst being a remote position, you may be required on the odd occasion to come into our studio, which is based in Nottingham
  • After you have successfully completed the MPG Academy, there is a chance for you to join us on a permanent basis as an Associate Software Engineer.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • With the support of one of our experienced Technical Directors, you will join the MPG Academy and work your way through structured learning modules and assignments.
  • The UI module will take you through the basics of using Unreal all the way up to creating fun, dynamic UI experiences focused on Games and Interactive Technologies.
  • You will learn all about Slate UI, localization, 2D layout, in-game UI, and much much more.

What We’ll Need From You

  • Experience with C++ (this could be from your time at university, gained outside of the games industry or from a personal project).
  • An interest and passion to start a career in the games industry.
