Academic Coordinator – Common Core Elementary and Early Years- August 2022 Start – APPLY NOW to secure an interview – UAE

I am currently recruiting for an outstanding international American School based in RAK, UAE, they are looking for an outstanding Academic Coordinator for the Early Years up to grade 3, you will be working amongst an international team who are delivering their subject specifics according to an international and UAE blended curriculum. The school has two campuses, each of these campuses are gender-specific, they have been established for over 30 years, they are a well-known beacon of education and standard in the emirate.

Purpose of Job

  • Offer professional leadership and management of the Early Years and up to grade 3 (preferably with someone who has experience in Common Core and Montessori) in order to secure high-quality teaching, the effective use of resources, and improved standards of learning and achievement for all students
  • Keep up to date with changes and initiatives in education
  • Model and promote best practices in the teaching and learning in the subject
  • Establish, evaluate and develop the academic aims and standards of the Maths, English, and Science curriculum and assessment

Take overall responsibility for Lower School curriculum leadership

  • Lead on pedagogical initiatives and approaches
  • Lead on pupil progress and tracking systems in core subject areas
  • Assist the Head of Lower School in establishing and maintaining a vibrant and thriving school
  • Ensure that quality educational programs take place in a safe, positive, and healthy learning environment

Minimal Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Education or a related subject from an accredited university
  • You MUST HAVE a teaching license (State license/QTS etc)
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of teaching
  • The candidate should have an excellent command of both written and spoken English
  • Be able to supply at least 2 references
  • Up to date Police Check (CRB/FBI/Garda etc)
  • MUST be western trained based on visa requirements and Clients demand

Collegiality

  • Work alongside Early Years Curriculum Coordinator to align frameworks and manage the transition between phases
  • Work alongside Upper School Academic Coordinator to align frameworks and manage the transition between phases
  • Work closely with the Early Years Head Curriculum to align assessments and procedures
  • Work closely with the Head of Inclusion to identify and assist students requiring additional support Wider responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with parents and assist in the coordination and delivery of parent curriculum meetings and/or workshops as appropriate
  • Lead on staff workshop, training, and curriculum-orientated CPD
