Founded in 1979, Action contre la Faim is an international non-governmental organization fighting hunger worldwide. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has underpinned its identity for over 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts and natural disasters. Action contre la Faim coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Security and Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
Under the supervision of the deputy country director, you will be in charge of the following missions:
Contribute to defining the country strategy as well as the Health & Nutrition strategy and positioning of the department
Coordinate the identification of needs and formulation of project proposals
Design, develop and evaluate actions in the field of nutrition and health
Monitor and coordinate programmes in the fields of nutrition and health
Develop and launch programmes in collaboration with governmental and local agencies
Be the Technical/Support Manager of the Nutrition and Health Program Managers
Represent Action Contre la Faim and its positioning at the local level, including coordination and collaboration with other actors
Profile :
You have a medical background with a specialization in public health, option in nutrition, or general medicine.
At least 5 years experience in the field of humanitarian context, including at least 3 years in a coordination position.
An experience with ACF is a plus.
You have demonstrated experience in healthcare organizations support and in the implementation of humanitarian responses in an emergency context (with emphasis in community-based prevention activities as well as in maternal and child health).
You have an excellent interpersonal skills with partners and authorities, as well as proven writing skills (project writing, reporting, etc).
You are fluent in English (oral and written) and either Ukrainian or Russian
