Created in 1979, Action contre la Faim is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. RESPONSIBILITIES

As Deputy Country Director of Programs, you will ensure the overall management of the Technical Heads of Departments and provide support to the Country Director
More precisely you will :
– Coordinate technical country strategy and ensure operational management of all technical areas,
– Represent and liaise for operational strategy and program related issues to donors, authorities, UN, NGOs,
– Analyze the Humanitarian needs,
– Ensure overall management of the Technical Heads of Departments,
– Follow-up on management of program budgets
– Act as Country Director in his absence

REQUESTED PROFILE

You hold a Master’ s degree in development / humanitarian aid, international affairs, public health, economics or similar fields
You have at least 6 years of management experience and significant experience with international NGOs. Experience with humanitarian programming preferred.
You have previously worked on emergency as well as medium to large scale development projects, especially those dealing with Health & Nutrition, MHCP, food security & livelihoods sectors; you also have experience in managing multi-year development projects.
Excellent management and leadership skills in a complex international setting and good stress management.
Recognised interpersonal skills and capacity to represent your organisation in external meetings : diplomatic and negotiation skills.
Disciplined, organised and able to work independently.
Fluent in English (verbal and written) and have good written and spoken skills in the language of the humanitarian operation.

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS / SALARY

– 12 months fixed term contract under French legislation
– Monthly gross salary from 2735 to 3185EUR upon experience
– Monthly per diem and living allowance: 275EUR + 181EUR net, field paid
– Monthly country allowance: 450EUR
– Child allowance: 1500EUR per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000EUR/year)
– 16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
– Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
– Medical coverage: 100% coverage of health contributions (social security + health insurance) and repatriation insurance
– Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year and 215 EUR at each RnR period
