The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is looking for consultant to the preparation of a Second Review of the Accelerated Industrial Development of Africa (AIDA) strategy and plan of action

The overall objective of the consultancy is to leverage the potential outcomes of the upcoming AU African Union Summit on Industrialization and Economic Diversification, developing a goal-oriented, coherent, and relevant updated policy framework is pertinent to guide our targeted action. To this end, the AUC through GIZ seeks the services of a consultant to indicate the way forward for updating AIDA Strategy and Plan of Action with the view of building upon the recommendations of the 2017 review of the AIDA Strategy and Plan of Action and better responding to the new socio-economic realities prevailing on the African and global arena.

Period of assignment: 08 August 2022 until 30 June 2023 for up to 55 Working Days

Qualifications of the expert

2.1.1 Qualifications: Master’s degree Economics, Business Administration, or related area.

2.1.2 Language: Fluency in English and French.

2.1.3 General professional experience: 10-year experience in the area of economic and/or industrial development

2.1.4 Specific professional experience/ knowledge:

a. 8-year professional experience in program/ project evaluation and review, incl. producing high-quality analytical reports and policy papers

b. 5-year professional experience in program/ project designing and implementation

c. 3-year professional experience working with/ on the African Union and Regional Economic Communities’ trade and industrial development policies

d. Experience working with or in multi-lateral, international donors/agencies and/or governmental organizations

e. Considerable knowledge of research and analysis methods

2.1.8. Other: Satisfactory skills on the use of digital communication platforms and Microsoft Office software.
