Norwegian People's Aid

We are looking for a consultant to work with the Cambodian Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva in support of their Presidency of the 5th Review Conference of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (RevCon).

Main Responsibilities

The RevCon Consultant will mostly be working on the processes related to the development of the substantial outcome documents of the RevCon, such as the review document, the action plan and the political declaration, which will require a lot of coordination and cooperation with different stakeholders such as states parties, civil society, operators and the ISU. In addition, the Presidency has commitments specifically linked to the issues of Compliance and Universalisation of the Convention, and these meetings will normally take place in Geneva. The official meetings throughout the year, such as the two preparatory meetings, the pledging conference for the ISU, the Intersessional meetings and the coordinating meetings with the Convention also take place in Geneva, and the Consultant will be supporting in the preparation of these meetings, as well as ensuring that inputs and feedback given from these meetings to the substantial documents are noted and included in the continued work. In between these meetings the Presidency can expect to have bilateral meetings with different stakeholders in preparing for the substantial documents, which the Consultant will help facilitate.

The Consultant will be hired by NPA on a consultancy contract and seconded to the Cambodian Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva to work under the instructions, guidance and coordination from the Cambodian Presidency and the APMBC Implementation Support Unit.

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

We offer

  • The gross monthly compensation equals 13 000 CAD

Please note that this is a one-year consultancy contract with no possibility of renewal (January to December 2024). • Willingness to travel to Cambodia and mine action project sites, as well as other locations, as required

What you will do
