2023 Summer Internship – Product Marketing – Smart Appliances Intern

Role and Responsibilities

The summer intern will assist in analyzing smart appliance market research data and provide an assessment of opportunities and gaps to help inform Go To Market plans.  They will help evaluate and track the competitive landscape of connected appliances and assist in developing and clarifying Samsung differentiated features and positioning.  They will research, understand, recommend most meaningful use cases and help gather US consumer smart trends.  They will audit, competitive websites to determine smart SKU mix, and evaluate social video content, messaging, partnerships and offers.  They will also research trends on energy standards and policy, IRA rebate offers, and attend in-store visits to gather competitive POP and messaging insights.  Provide team insights on product capabilities, use cases, competitive landscape to assist in development SmartThings home strategy. They will help support DA showroom connected demos, develop presentations, sales tool kit and collaborate with members of product marketing, demand generation and PIT teams to support project initiatives. 

Qualifications:

• Clear and concise oral and written communicate skills
• Creative, curious and clear thinker that can sift through the data to get to the core of the matter
• Ability to be resourceful in supporting a newer category like smart appliances
• Ability to collaborate with cross category and marketing team

Technical Skills Required for Internship:

• Proficiency in excel, PowerPoint, search engine and social media research/outreach.         
• Prior experience in connected and/or technology products preferred.
• Prior experience working across multiple product teams preferred.

• Acquires and applies job skills and learns the company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks that are routinely/semi-routinely in nature

• Normally follows established procedures on work. Requires instructions on tasks

• Typical entry point for high school or vocational college graduates
