Project Outline

Project Title Raising the Bar on Congress Planning

Medical congresses are important events that bring together groundbreaking science, thought leaders, healthcare professionals, and pharmaceutical industry. These present a unique opportunity to disseminate data, gain crucial insights, partner with the pharmaceutical industry community, and demonstrate thought leadership.

The challenges in planning a global congress involve organization, managing information, understanding cross-functional tactics, and executing tasks efficiently. Each congress presents its own unique learning points and challenges. The intern would facilitate the Global Medical Communications (GMC) team in the creation of a pre-congress plan and integrated communications plan during congress planning. They would observe and document processes, develop workflows, collate information from stakeholders, and create/ refine data management solutions and templates, thus improving overall efficiency and processes. The improvements identified from a dedicated in-house resource such as an intern would provide valuable oversight, greatly improve organizational efficiency, and advance our ‘Best Practices’ congress model.

The intern will work cross-functionally with many disciplines involved in congress planning, learn from leaders in GMC and the broader Medical Affairs, and will develop presentation, project management, and leadership skills as a result of this project.

This position is hybrid.
