Purchasing Intern

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. What does that mean? Well, we pump peanut butter into your jar, and the oil in your car. We glue the soles of your shoes, the glass in your windows and the screen on your phone. Job Purpose:

Assist and support the purchasing department staff (both direct and indirect) with cost reduction, quality improvement and continuous improvement projects and initiatives.

The Graco Summer 2023 Intern Program is designed for students who seek a culture of innovation, quality, and A+ customer service. As a Graco intern, you will have the opportunity to grow knowledge of the industry, develop solutions to real business challenges, and make important connections for the future. During the internship, you will work on projects that align with the needs of the business that allow you to have a hand in key company initiatives. Throughout the summer you will be invited to attend educational and social events and will complete a final presentation on your internship experience.

Essential Duties:

• Conduct market intelligence allowing for data collection and analysis on major commodity/part cost drivers.
• Monitor key department metrics on a weekly basis.
• Track and monitor first article supplier tooling build.
• Support supplier risk mitigation initiative.
• Support conflict minerals and trade compliance requirements.

Position Requirements:

• Entering College junior level or higher, pursuing a four-year degree in business or supply chain management.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Competent PC skills and MS Office experience.
• Course work or experience in supply chain or manufacturing preferred.
