The Somerset Cancer Register (SCR) is the leading cancer system provider and supports more than 100 NHS Trusts across England. Our work helps to drive accurate data collection, which informs national decisions on how to treat and manage cancer and leads to more lives being saved.

Main duties of the job

The Requirements Analysis Team are responsible for the production of specifications for changes to our system. We have a great developmental opportunity for a Trainee Requirements Analyst to join us. You’ll have excellent communication and problem-solving skills with an interest in helping us to maintain and develop IT systems. You’ll start as a band 4 and progress to a band 5 Requirements Analyst after a period of training.

You’ll be joining a friendly and dedicated team of over 35 NHS IM&T staff. The professionals employed cover Requirements Analysts, Testers, Developers, Trainers, Business Support & Customer Support, all of whom work with clinicians, operational staff and policy makers to deliver the SCR products.

We are looking for someone to work full time or part time (minimum of 22.5 hours per week) and there is flexibility in how your hours are worked for example 8-4 or 9-5. The role also offers the opportunity to work a blended home/office work pattern.

Interviews will be held on Monday 23rd January.
