The Team
The Software Robotics Intern is part of the Spot Software team. Our team and organization has created a new and growing market for legged robots in industrial applications by shipping the Spot product. In this role you will be paired with a senior developer who will mentor you as you collaborate with the rest of the team to improve our product.
The Ideal Candidate Has Hands-on Laboratory Experience In One Or More Of The Following Areas
Your main role will be software development on a team of robotics engineers devoted to enhancing the perception, autonomous navigation, or mobile manipulation capabilities of Spot.
- Perception and computer vision for robotics applications
- Simultaneous localization and mapping
- Motion planning
- Controls and trajectory optimization for robotic manipulators
Day To Day Activities
- Write code
- Run experiments with Spot
- Analyze and debug data from the Spot system
- Communicate designs and progress with the larger team
Desired Skills
- Current student enrolled in an undergraduate, masters, or doctoral program in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Hands-on experience developing robotics software in a laboratory or industry setting
- Proficiency with C++ and Python
