Job Summary

The Summer Internship Program at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is a key source for identifying, attracting and developing future talent within our company. We are seeking self-motivated candidates who possess a strong technical aptitude, keen analytical, problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and leadership skills.

This program is a great way to gain a head start on your career by working on meaningful projects, learning valuable skills, connecting with employees and managers throughout the company, and potentially building a future career at the company. Through hands-on relevant work experience, the internship program will allow the student or graduate to learn the business of Arkansas Blue Cross.

Interns will receive professional coaching and participate in team building exercises. Weekly leadership forums are required where the intern will participate in open discussions regarding the corporate business and culture

Requirements

Education & Experience:

Intern I

  • Sophomore year in college (At least 30 credit hours but fewer than 60 credit hours).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation. (At least one from the attending school)
  • A minimum of 6.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
  • Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.) Due to pandemic, remote opportunities are planned for 2022.

Intern II

  • Junior year in college (At least 60 credit hours but fewer than 90 credit hours).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation. (At least one from the attending school)
  • A minimum of 12.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
  • Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.) Due to pandemic, remote opportunities are planned for 2022.

Intern III

  • Senior year in college (At least 90 credit hours).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation. (At least one from the attending school)
  • A minimum of 18.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
  • Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.) Due to pandemic, remote opportunities are planned for 2022.

Intern IV

  • Bachelor’s degree in requested discipline or a related degree if applicable
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation. (at least one from the attending school)
  • Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.) Due to pandemic, remote opportunities are planned for 2022.

Security Requirements

This position is identified as level three (3).
