The role

Formo is looking for an experienced IT System Administrator to manage our company’s computer systems. As IT System Administrator, you will be responsible for designing hardware configurations, installing software, managing network systems, and training staff on correct operating procedures. Your goal is to own data security, sovereignty, and compliance for Formo’s IT infrastructure. As IT System Administrator you will also be responsible for setting up the infrastructure necessary to collect, extract and transform data throughout the organization. You will be part of a small IT Team and will be able therefore to share global responsibilities while taking ownership of the location you are assigned to.

What you will be doing

• Your goal is to provide support for all your colleagues regarding IT-related topics, both locally and remotely
• You will work on conception, construction, documentation, and further development of computer and software management environments and keep up-to-date and secure IT infrastructure
• You are responsible for the technical onboardings and offboardings and deploying new hardware, software, and accounts to our employees on a mix of Windows and Mac devices
• You install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
• You ensure the network’s security, protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction, and troubleshoot any access problems
• You configure and maintain backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures
• You advise all Formo employees on the management of hardware and software
• You maintain inventory and material forecast
• You manage permissions and software licenses, create new mailboxes and mailboxes groups

Job requirements

• At least 2- 4 years of relevant technical experience
• A degree in computer science, information technology, an apprenticeship as a “Fachinformatiker” or a similar field of education
• Experience managing end-to-end IT infrastructure
• Good knowledge of server operating systems, such as Windows and Linux
• Experience with network configuration
• Thorough knowledge of computer maintenance (MacOS, Windows) and related processes (backups, license management, setup of new machines, network troubleshooting etc.)
• You are a fast learner and continuously improve yourself and your work. You actively help, give feedback and act upon the feedback you receive
• You have experience in solving incidents: equipment and their configuration (software, operating system, hardware, and network)
• You have experience with Google Workspace Management
• You have excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus
• Prior experience with IT security projects is a plus
