THE PROGRAM
The 2023 Network Operations Intern Program is open for dedicated and hardworking students. The goal of the Network Operations Intern Program is to provide current students with exposure to a real-life network operation setting, while giving them the opportunity to learn about our industry. Spectrum provides an atmosphere that is intended to broaden an entry level candidate’s professional understanding while promoting self-confidence, accomplishment, and career development.The program is 10 weeks in length and will run from: June 5th, 2023, through August 11th, 2023.
JOB SCOPE
As a member of the Application Platform Operations (APO) Activations team, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for operations of Activation systems including deployment of releases into various environments, troubleshoot issues, manage configuration, and execute MOPs (Method of Procedure) in Pre-Production and Production environments. We are an operations-centric service fulfillment organization that ensures systems are operating efficiently 24×7.
This is an opportunity to obtain meaningful work experience through on-the-job training and work assignments. You will work under the supervision of operations lead staff on-site and gain an appreciation for operations and engineering processes and activities within the APO Activations group.
Duties And Responsibilities
Day-in, day out, deployment of releases on UNIX environment involving WebLogic applications.
Monitor Activations systems, configure, and troubleshoot issues. Fine tune configurations for performance, complete OS and WebLogic Patching.
Work closely with integrated teams and use collaboration tools to discuss issues and determine and implement mitigation and resolution plans.
Actively and consistently, support all systems to enhance system stability and strive for improving customer experience.
Continuously monitor and report on system reliability and application performance and work under the guidance of technical leads and Manager.
Closely work with internal teams to validate all connectivity issues and resolve them in timely manner
Shake out validation and testing for newly built applications.
Ability to configure alerts, monitor and support new dashboards using Splunk/Appd.
Basic / Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited four year college or university
- Bachelors: Sophomore and above
- Master’s: Any Level
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
- Basic working knowledge of UNIX-based systems and WebLogic knowledge. Will be a value add to have at least one application programming (Linux/Unix, Python, Ansible etc.)
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate in person, on the phone, and written in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner

The pay for this position has a salary range of $20.00/hr to $35.60/hr. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
