Intern Field Sales – Baltimore/Washington DC (Spring 2023)

Summary:

We are seeking top talent that has a passion for winning and making a difference. The Intern, Field Sales position at The Hershey Company provides the opportunity to work with our customers and build upon your business acumen skills.

Responsibilities:

Your introduction to the consumer products industry and selling will be delivered through real world experience with our grocers, convenience, and mass merchandiser customers. You will sell and negotiate distribution of Hershey products using weekly sales figures and market data with a territory of high-volume chain grocers, convenience, and mass merchandiser customers.

Training is on the job and focused on developing skills in driving business at retail. As an intern with our field sales organization, you will be responsible for supporting the sales team’s efforts covering a geographic territory of established retail accounts.

Qualifications:

Our interns possess strong selling and communication skills. In addition, critical thinking, leadership, and organizational skills are key to planning, prioritizing, and executing our business plan. Successful job performance comes from a commitment to generating results.

We offer a competitive hourly wage based on years of college completed and reimbursement for business mileage.

The qualified, successful candidate will possess the following:

• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Must maintain personal auto insurance indicating minimum coverage of $150,000 per person / $150,000 per accident / $100,000 property damage. The policy must permit business use
• Reliable transportation to complete multiple sales calls per day
• Willingness to learn and motivation to succeed
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and entering your Junior or Senior Year
• This internship is going to cover a territory in Baltimore/Washington DC and will require a commitment of 40 hours per week during the summer and 15-20 hours per week during the spring semester. Candidates must reside in the area for the duration of the internship.
