Zebra’s Legal Department supports a publicly traded technology company having approximately 9,000 employees. The Legal Department supports Zebra’s global commercial and government sales activities and other contracting activities, merger & acquisition and venture activities, the development and protection of intellectual property rights, environment, privacy, security, health & safety initiatives, compliance and ethics programs, and other functions throughout Zebra. Additionally, the Legal Department advises a variety of business units and internal business partners on employment related matters, litigation, claims, and other matters.

Responsibilities

• The Corporate Legal Intern will work on assigned projects with members of the Legal Department in different functional areas (e.g., patents, trademarks, commercial contracts, corporate, compliance, employment, and environment, health & safety).
• Tasks involve legal research, preparing written materials and giving presentations to guide attorneys that support specific business units or legal groups.
• The Corporate Legal Intern will prepare materials that the Legal Department will rely on to fulfill one or more roles in support of the business.
• Additionally, the Corporate Legal Intern will improve operational aspects of internal Legal Department functions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an 2L law program (must have 1 year of law school completed)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
• Must reside within 50 miles of the primary work location (Lincolnshire, IL)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
• Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
• Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences
• Ability to collaborate as part of a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Salary USD 19.00 – USD 42.00 Hourly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
