Position Overview
The Instructional Design Internship is focused on supporting projects within the Talent Development team under HR Operations.
District Overview
HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.
Location
This position will be based out of Omaha, NE.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to develop a deep understanding of their needs and the culture of the company.
- Support the creation of learning solutions using tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, Storyline, Photoshop, and Microsoft office.
- Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technologies, and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation.
- Support the recording and editing processes of video, audio, and screen recording files.
- Leverages the appropriate technologies to support the development of instructional text and audio/video scripts to aid in the creation of facilitator guides, participant guides, and handouts.
- Select colors, images, text styles, and layouts that are professional and convey a specific message.
- Leverage technology to improve learner access to materials.
- Support revisions and reviews of course content for accuracy and quality. This includes supporting scripting and storyboarding content and leading end to end design for learning solutions.
- Drive projects towards completion on-time and within budget.
- Understand the business strategy and identify connections across solutions.
- Effectively communicate conceptual ideas and development expertise to internal and external teams.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or related degree
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Course authoring software (Articulate Storyline preferred)
- LMS experience/exposure
- Effective communication (both oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passionate for continuous improvement
- Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
- Ability to manage confidential information in strict confidence
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
