Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Summer Marketing Intern to work within our Marketing department. This role will support marketing communications efforts for Global Grain & Processing, CHS Hedging, and Global Research within CHS. This internship will provide a diverse experience within the marketing communications field as part of the nation’s largest cooperative.
This intern will serve as a valued member of the team, participating and/or leading a variety of projects in the following categories: advertising, marketing communications, customer and employee communications, radio, trade shows, web sites and digital media. You must be detail-oriented, independent, and eager to learn with excellent communications skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
Responsibilities
- Participate and lead special projects, which may include assistance in meeting preparation, development and execution of various marketing communications campaigns
- Provide strategic trade show support, including determining business objectives and organizing materials
- Write and design communications, newsletter stories and related content for online and print
- Work on communication and image planning, including branding and image strategies for both specific campaigns and general communication needs
- Engage with external vendor partners through ongoing marketing communications efforts
- Collaborate with individuals across the internal marketing and communications teams to execute on initiatives
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Working toward a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, leadership, business, agricultural journalism/communications or another related degree area
- Experience working with student organizations, event planning and/or communications
- Ability to work both independently and alongside a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Additional Qualifications
- Background or interest in agriculture
- Prior internship or work experience
