Do you want to supplement your education with actual hands-on experience in an environment where you will face new challenges every day? Our multi-venue event complex is looking for new student interns who actively want to help drive improvements and assist our business by providing support to develop the tools to deploy against the challenges we face. Every day offers new, exciting challenges. Some days you might be expected to perform clerical work, while at other times you will have a chance to support events behind the scenes to see what really goes into those concerts or activities you have read about, or possibly attended. Apply to be an intern today and potentially earn school credit (depending on major, and university requirements and allowance for intern credit).

Rupp Arena/Central Bank Center has an internship opportunity for a talented, self-motivated individual that will support the HR team in projects for onboarding new hires to identifying methods of engagement and retention of our current workforce. During the internship, you will gain exposure to the business through weekly meetings with various leaders of the organization. You will have the opportunity to present your learnings to our Senior Leadership team.

  • Research, and collaborate to plan events for employee engagement and recognition.
  • Standardize and streamline HR/Organization processes and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with department managers to identify training needs and research training plans.
  • Work closely with departments to assess training events to ensure they are effective and informative for new hires and current staff.
  • Schedule and support the execution of onboarding and training for new employees.
  • Follow up with new employees to ensure successful onboarding to the organization.
  • Track new employee feedback for additional assessment and identify areas for improvement.

  • Currently a Junior or Senior actively pursuing a degree in human resources, education, organizational development or a related field
  • Willing to commit to the intern position for four months, with the possibility of a longer internship available
  • Willing to learn and get hands-on experience
  • Able to commit at least 12 hours a week to be physically present at the facility
  • Creative problem solver: able to both work independently and build relationships in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
