Namati Kenya is recruiting a Senior Program Officer, Community Land
Namati’s Community Land Protection Program supports communities to use national land laws to protect their customary and indigenous lands. Our integrated approach combines the legal and technical work of mapping and documentation with the local governance work of resolving land conflicts, ensuring intra-community equity, and strengthening mechanisms for accountable and participatory management of land and natural resources. We work in partnership with national and local organizations to implement community land protection programs and research impacts.
The Senior Program Officer will be responsible for:
- Selection and support to partner organizations as they implement a co-designed program built around the Community Land Act at the community level
- Outreach and collaboration with government counterparts
- Supervising two community-based paralegals
- Overall management of the Community Land Protection Program’s Monitoring & Evaluation system
- Supporting colleagues and partners to deepen data collection and data management skills
Minimum 5+ years land-related program management experience including field work and capacity building support for partner organizations; deep knowledge of monitoring & evaluation, data analysis, and community land policy processes required
