IT Network – Internship

In this internship, you will investigate the best way to conduct the replacement of MineMeld, a Palo Alto Networks product that is no longer supported and has been transferred to the community.

Within the Network & Telephony team we are responsible for renewing, managing and maintaining the IT network and telephony infrastructure. Van Lanschot Kempen works agile, which means that we work together a lot, plan our work and execute it in a structured way.

That is what you will use your talents for in the IT Network Internship at Van Lanschot Kempen. The MineMeld product retrieves dynamic lists for Van Lanschot Kempen with IP addresses or URLs. An example of these are the Microsoft Office 365 lists. These dynamic lists are used in the Palo Alto firewalls to attain the correct security rules. Van Lanschot Kempen wants to replace MineMeld due to the lack of product support and the uncertainties about resolving security vulnerabilities.

You will also have the following tasks:

• You take into account the possibilities, standardisation and security guidelines that apply within Van Lanschot Kempen
• Other than possibilities such as Azure, Ansible or scripts on a web server, you research options and share about your research and findings
• The dynamic lists must be able to be offered to the Palo Alto and Azure firewalls. You therefore take into account the various formats such as JSON and XML
• After the research, you will build the solution as a Proof of Concept. Documentation is important to record the operation and to be able to transfer knowledge

Your talents

Curiosity, creativity and investigation skills. This is how we can best describe you in the IT Network Internship. By thinking out of the box and asking questions you assist us in bringing our IT infrastructure to a higher level. And all will be well if you also have good communication and can work independently. In addition:

• You are a third or fourth year HBO bachelor student in Computer Science (or similar)
• You are passionate about technology and have affinity with scripting or programming
• You are available between 32 to 40 hours per week for at least 3 months
• You have good organisational skills and are able to document the process thoroughly
• Good mastery of English, both oral and written
