Offshore Wind Certification Engineer (Structural & geotechnical)

DNV is currently looking for a Structural & Geotechnical Engineer who will join the Renewables Certification team located in Busan and report to the Country Manager for Korea. The team is focused on supporting our clients to reduce the risks as they deliver bigger, more efficient, and lower cost projects.

To effectively assist our clients, we are recruiting talented and motivated engineers to join our team.

Position Qualifications

Since we are seeking different profiles as technical experts, project managers or combinations of said, suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate some of the below competences:

Technical Qualification

• Engineering degree (M.Sc / B.Sc) in civil, structural or marine engineering, naval architecture or equivalent
• Relevant experience from similar positions
• Geotechnical interpretation of soil data of offshore sites
• Relevant European and international offshore design codes and standards
• Relevant analysis tools (e.g., SESAM, ABAQUS, SACS)
• Numerical analysis using FEM for soil structure interaction
• Offshore pile installation and testing
• Experience with coupled analyses of floaters
• Experience with mooring systems
• Experience with design of steel structures including fatigue
• Experience with corrosion and steel materials
• Experience with submarine pipeline systems and/or dynamic cables
• Experience with manufacturing and offshore installation survey/surveillance
• Experience with structural probabilistic reliability analyses, seismic analyses, ship impact analyses
• Project management experience, with understanding of technical interfaces, project finance management
• Experience with proposal preparation

Project Management

• Deliver consistently high-quality work and meet tight deadlines
• Work according to accredited certification processes to ensure a consistent, independent and auditable record
• Interaction, communication and collaboration with colleagues internationally to complete integrated analyses for offshore projects

Communication and customer relationships

• Fluent English and Korean language skills
• Lead technical reviews and project progress meetings with clients
• Regular travel within Korea and occasional travel to Europe is expected
• Manage customer relationships and actively develop new business opportunities in the renewables market
