POSITION SUMMARY
Functions as a temporary member of the health care team who provides patient care and uses this temporary position to learn and develop skills that will be utilized as a future Registered Nurse.
Promotes the delivery of quality patient care through the implementation of the nursing process for all age groups cared for on the unit.
Functions as a patient advocate, seeks to improve services, and performs duties in a fiscally responsible manner.
Maintains an atmosphere which ensures that South Georgia Medical Center’s values, goals, policies & procedures are consistently supported and enforced.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Completion of junior year of approved RN School of Nursing,
CPR certification
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient/family units and staff members.
Ability to work well individually and as a team member.
Ability to adapt to new situations set priorities and use problem-solving techniques in a positive manner.
Ability to read and interpret policies and standards of care as related to patient care issues.
Ability to function under the supervision of an RN and in collaboration with other discipline’s team members.
Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for a diverse population of patients/family units of all ages, a variety of cultures, and/or persons occasionally exhibiting stressed behavior.
