Spring Co-op Program: January 10, 2023 – June 23, 2023
The Supply Chain/Logistics Co-op position will include practical training and involvement in managing product data in ERP systems, analyzing supplier performance, conducting analysis for optimizing the planning, procurement and logistics of Abiomed devices. In addition, the Co-op will be involved with Supply Chain & Logistics process improvement and change management related to ongoing product updates.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with IT and Planning team to drive ERP system improvement initiatives
- Work with Supplier Engineers, Planning and Procurement team maintain Supplier Risk Assessment Matrix, soliciting information from suppliers, evaluating safety stock and intercompany transactions.
- Support logistics team in receiving, PTO and shipping layout and optimization projects, including new construction tracking, facilitating warehouse expansion and improving single piece flow initiatives
- Evaluate alternative approaches to materials replenishment and planning methods
- Perform raw material & component analyses under direct supervision and guidance to support and improve existing products
Job Qualifications
- Grad student pursuing a MBA or MS with Supply Chain focus, undergraduate engineering degree preferred
- Understanding of manufacturing process, supplier management, planning and analytics
- Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives desired
- Familiarity with project management terms and concepts is a plus
- Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently (oral and written)
- Execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision
- Able to prioritize tasks
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience or aptitude with database software applications desired
