We are seeking a full-time Intern for our Houston office located in Katy, Tx to join our team for a duration of 10 consecutive weeks from June to August.

As an Accounting Intern and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

• Assists with month end and year end close and reporting process.
• Conducts full cycle AP to include payments to employees, subs, suppliers, etc. in accordance with legal requirements, contract terms and corporate guidelines.
• Conducts cycle AR to include submitting invoices to owners in accordance with contract requirements and collections within contract terms.
• Ensures that approvals on all accounting and or payroll documents are within corporate guidelines.
• Maintains corporate accounting standards.
• Assists with the assembling of information for internal financial reporting.
• Performs diverse and advanced secretarial duties (answering of phones, word processing, data processing, transcription, editing, proof-reading, filing, etc.)
• Reviews all approved expense reports, process expense payments and post to general ledger.

Qualifications

• May hold or be working towards an associates or bachelor’s degree (preferably in marketing/graphics/ communications)
• 18 years of age or older and able to work in Houston, TX, full time
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a background check and substance abuse test conducted by a third party
• Proficient with Microsoft office software
• Exposure to owner contracts as they relate to payment terms.
• Basic understanding of lien rights.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
