Basic Purpose

Summer Intern will work with the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (“EPMO”) team in the Enterprise Transformation Office department, which is responsible for the planning and oversight of initiatives to ensure strategic objectives are met, which includes planning and prioritization of initiatives, performance and strategic benefit realization and integrated enterprise reporting.

Interns will support the EMPO in developing a project performance framework and display to indicate the value technology investments are delivering based on their business case projections. This involves mapping metrics and key performance indicators on project performance to create an executive dashboard that conveys the value projects are delivering. This data will be used by governance bodies to make lean portfolio management decisions to stop, pivot, or persevere initiatives as they ensure the most valuable work is being performed.

This position works closely with stakeholders across the organization to collect the metrics needed to maintain an enterprise wide view of technology investments in the organization.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
  • Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal including preparing

and presenting presentation results, sharing findings and alternatives, and

influencing management decision making

  • Relationship building, negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
  • Advanced critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Familiatity/experience with technology concepts and practices, and project/program/

portfolio management tools, concepts and practices

  • Familiarity/experience with Lean/Agile concept and practices
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite of tools – Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills including the ability to

clearly present findings to management

  • Significant experience in designing and preparing customized reports that influence

senior department management decisions regarding prioritizing the organization’s resources

including ability to analyze and recommend reporting process improvements to management

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with external

contacts and all levels of management and staff

  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance and as part of a team, and experience

with guiding and mentoring others

  • Ability to work in a changing environment and assess the impact of changes on objectives

and to rapidly shift priorities as circumstances change

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
