Basic Purpose

The Escrow Analysis & Tax Disbursements Department is jointly focused on providing an exceptional member experience via the processing and performance of tasks related to escrow accounts and balances.

In accordance with RESPA Compliance guidelines, the Analysis team performs quality control on loan data obtained from the mortgage loan documents received at closing, as well as regularly reviews accounts to ensure escrow collection is sufficient for outstanding tax and insurance coverage. The Tax Disbursements team ensures the timely payment of real estate property taxes according to all applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements in addition to interfacing with attorneys, trustees, members and other NFCU departments to investigate and resolve tax related issues.

The selected intern will be trained on the aspects and responsibilities of the Analysis & Tax Specialists. The individual should be a quick learner who is able to leverage data to increase efficiency and navigate tax scenarios that vary in complexity. Additionally, the individual should be detail-oriented with a desire to elevate the membership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct workforce capacity reviews and create forecasting models geared towards streamlined

processes and increased efficiency

  • Collaborate with specialists and department leadership to address and resolve escalated

membership queries related to escrow balances and tax issues

  • Audit existing procedures to ensure that the business unit is compliant with regulatory and

investment requirements

  • Prepare end-of-internship summary containing result-based recommendations in the areas of

Risk Management, Strategy Efficacy, and Membership Experience

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college/university
  • Experience with data entry and /or analytics
  • Ability to interpret and apply instructions and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data and numbers
  • Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
