Basic Purpose
IT Infrastructure & Engineering is responsible for the entire life cycle of network, voice, video, compute and storage platforms by delivering high quality technology solutions enabling business outcomes. Our mission is to engineer and maintain these systems ensuring secure, highly available and scalable platforms in support of network and voice communications, core banking, ATM & POS processing, data storage/recovery, application hosting and integration. In addition, the engineering teams offer 24×7 technical support for many critical business functions and member facing channels.
Our ISD intern program offers college students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the financial sector, while assisting us to provide the high-quality support that our members deserve. To be eligible for this position candidate must currently be enrolled in an accredited university and willing to learn and combine theoretical knowledge with hands on experience while developing his or her professional skills.
Joining this team will allow you to gain exposure in the following areas:
- Plan, implement, operate and maintain Navy Federal’s Voice Services and associated
subsystems and equipment. Program system software, monitor system performance and make
recommendations to improve system performance and lower costs
- Conduct detailed system analysis and develop procedures for system management
- Customize and administer Voice related software applications management to include planning
and implementing upgrades, system configuration management, programming, and maintaining system
through all phases of system software/hardware life cycles
- Research, analyze, and resolve problems and system events, issues and/or program deficiencies

- Performs work in support of assigned IT group – duties may vary depending on assignment
- Applies knowledge gained from degree program in day-to-day duties/responsibilities
- May receive guidance and direction from management and/or senior-level staff
- Leverage technical knowledge and skill
- Works within established standards, change control, policies, and procedures
- Provides exceptional customer service
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely
- Ability to exercise initiative, produce desired results and achieve objectives
- Effective attention to detail
- Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including skill in
negotiating and persuading others
- Experience which demonstrates a high degree of maturity, objectivity, tact, integrity,

- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team with a cooperative,

- Experience with PCs and related software such as Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel,
PowerPoint, Word, Visio etc.)
- Must be entering Sophomore or Junior year
- Experience with troubleshooting and/or telephony

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.
Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 hourly
Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
