DoD SkillBridge – Business Intelligence Intern

The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. These roles are unique opportunities for service members with authorization to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program as directed by their respective command. BRP is a DoD SkillBridge authorized participant.

This internship would allow the qualified candidate to participate in a learning program designed around training into a potential full-time opportunity of a role similar to the one in the description listed below. DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from BRP, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.

Position Summary

Business Intelligence Interns typically handle the basics of analysis and data modeling design using data collected in a centralized data warehouse or multiple databases throughout our organization. It’s a role that combines hard skills like programming, data modeling and statistics with soft skills like communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving. Candidates need a well-rounded background to balance the line between IT and the business.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate customer data as it’s collected
• Assist with the the deployment of data to the data warehouse
• Document the processes to acquire, transform, and move data from source systems to a reporting environment.
• Create or discover new data procurement and processing programs
• Monitor analytics and metrics results (Participate in team reviews of analysis to provide additional insights and perspectives on data).
• Work closely with BI developers to develop and build analytical products that deliver value to business stakeholders.
• Review datasets to ensure integrity of data collection and utilization – Testing
• Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies – Testing
