Peace Brigades International (PBI) is an international nongovernmental organization (INGO) registered before the United Nations (UN) and founded in 1981. We have over 40 years experience in international accompaniment and we’ve been present in Mexico since 1999.

PBI’s mandate is to create a space for peace and human rights protection. Our work is based on international presence, including: international physical presence, public relations, creating and strengthening support networks for rights defenders, observation and research activities, etc.

Job Description

PBI’s Mexico Project (MEP) has an annual budget of around 400,000 euros, which comes from around 24 european and north american entities. We are looking for a person who will be responsible for fund raising and grant management tasks, including maintaining contact with PBI National Groups about funding opportunities and the production of funding applications and donor reports. Furthermore, this person will be responsible for coordinating our Monitoring and Evaluation activities, which are implemented by our field teams, and consolidating this data to measure the impact of PBI Mexico activities, which is incorporated into the abovementioned funding applications and donor reports.

The main goals of this post are:

  • Ensuring the continuity of income and financial stability of the Project, designing and implementing a global and annual strategy for fundraising for PBI Mexico.
  • Planning, developing and executing resource management strategies.
  • Guaranteeing the planning for Monitoring and Evaluation activities.

Essential requirements:

  • Identifying yourself with the Mission and Principles of Peace Brigades International
  • Minimum 4 years demonstrable experience in fundraising and project management (proposal, monitoring, reporting) in cooperation agencies, NGOs or international organizations.
  • Relevant university degree for fundraising, M&E and international organizations work
  • Must have excellent spanish and english language skills through native language or higher education. Spanish is the working language of the organization and of several of our donors.
  • Excellent Office software skills, other computing knowledge will be highly valued.
  • Superb teamwork abilities, task coordination and ability to work in horizontal structures with consensus decision-making.
  • Ability to plan area tasks with great autonomy, time flexibility and working under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize, organization and efficient planning abilities, good time management, multitasking and meeting deadlines.

Desirable traits:

  • Knowledge of accounting and budget building
  • Good stress management abilities in the workplace
  • Good communication abilities
  • Knowledge of human rights situation in Mexico and/or Latin America
  • Ability to work in a multicultural setting

What we offer:

  • Two year contract with 6 months probation. Foreseeable contract renovation for similar period of time, pending positive evaluations and mutual agreements.
  • Full-time work (40h work week, 5 days a week)
  • Starting salary of 1.400 euros per month, subject to annual salary increase policy.
  • Initially remote work, possible transfer to Mexico to be evaluated during the first year of the contract.
  • 25 days off per year, plus up to 8 national holidays per year.
  • All work expenses covered, under the conditions stipulated in the annual budget.
