The role
UAL is #2 ranked University globally for Art & Design and is setting about delivering our ambitious ten-year strategy, ‘ The World Needs Creativity’. In an increasing digital and global world, the digital services we provide to students and staff are central to our success. In line with this ambition UAL is transforming our approach to technology, from a traditional IT Services model to the creation of a new Digital & Technology (D&T) Group.
Reporting to the new Chief Digital Officer, (CDO) the Head of Business Operations (HoBO) will play a key leadership role in building and running the new division. The role will sit in the group’s new Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working alongside new Group Service Directors, with specific responsibility for and oversight of the strategic and operational development of the new group.
The HoBO will lead the group’s overall approaches to financial strategy, planning and operations; people strategies (including recruitment, staff development and Employee Value Proposition), corporate governance, external partnerships, communications, while providing high level strategic and policy advice to the CDO, working in partnership with key leaders within D&T and across UAL to build and successfully run the new group.
