We are currently working in close partnership with a Newcastle Secondary School who are recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to work from September until at least July 2023 (term time only). There is a strong possibility that a permanent contract will be offered after this point.

The role is 8.00am to 15.30pm Monday to Friday ongoing.

The school requires someone that is patient, adaptable and flexible.

The role of a learning support assistant is to support young people with an identified Special Educational need. You will aid in removing the barriers impacting a young person’s ability to access the curriculum, engage in learning and enable them to reach their full potential. You will join a large and successful SEND department in a diverse urban secondary school. You will work with students aged between 11-16 both in lessons and within the SEND unit.

Experience working with young people would be beneficial, but we would welcome applications from candidates who have a background in supporting those with additional needs or care work. The role is also suitable for recent graduates who have more limited experience but a passion and ambition for working with children.

The school is located to the west of Newcastle city centre. It is easily accessible from the A1 making travel from the surrounding areas of Northumberland and Gateshead possible.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
