JOB SUMMARY:

The FSL coordinator is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of the FSL program through support to the FSL teams and ensuring adherence to ONSUR and donor guidelines and standards. The FSL coordinator is in charge of building the capacity of the FSL team and ONSUR internal and external representation and coordination. The FSL coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day program organization and ensuring that the program effectively and efficiently achieves its objectives per ONSUR guidelines and principles for a specific geographic area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the FSL program objectives.
  • Monitor the FSL program performance in terms of outputs against activity plans and take all necessary action, to ensure the FSL program achieves its objectives within the allotted time and budget.
  • Identify geographical areas of interest to the organization according to humanitarian needs and vulnerable population context.
  • Analyze and report the humanitarian needs and provide clear and detailed recommendations for interventions.
  • Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the needs of identified vulnerable groups are met.
  • Ensure monitoring of food security and livelihood projects (field visits, regular program monitoring, budget forecast, staff evaluation and planning, donor reports, monthly reports, etc.).
  • Ensure the preparation and writing of food security and livelihood proposals and donor reports (log frame, narrative, budget) with the FSL team and in link with the support team.
  • Liaising with authorities, partner organizations, NGOs, government bodies, and clusters at the sub.
  • Providing technical support to FSL staff ensuring the provision of quality life-saving and sustainable assistance.
  • Strengthen staff and partner capacity on FSL and ensure a clear understanding of critical concepts through training and other capacity-strengthening activities.
  • Together with the M&E, and FSL team, develop learning agendas, and ensure learning from the FSL programs is captured, consolidated, and disseminated, contributing to knowledge building to be disseminated internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in (economics, agriculture, and food security sector) or any relevant field.
  • More than 4 years of work experience in a relevant sector including managing a team, and experience in regular food security, agriculture, and livelihood interventions are desired.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel inside Syria are required for this position, and frequent field program visits are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with people of all backgrounds, and excellent relationship-building skills.
  • MS Office proficiency (Power PI, Word, Excel)
  • Very good presentation and communication skills (written, and spoken), including excellent writing skills in English and Arabic.
  • Turkish Is preferred.
