Future Combat Air – International Programme Support Officer

UK Ministry of Defence

The Combat Air Strategy underlined that the UK’s Future Combat Air programme must not only develop a Military Capability that can overcome future threats, it is also paramount that it fulfils the strategic National Value objectives to deliver greater National Prosperity and Industrial Capability for the future. To achieve these UK priority objectives the FCAS enterprise needs to ensure we have the right people and skills across Government and Industry to dynamically deliver this cutting edge, once in a generation, capability programme.

The International Programme Support Officer will enable high quality planning and tracking across the international portfolio. The post holders will help to monitor and drive progress, ensure the production of accurate and timely documentation, milestone tracking and the identification of key issues that could affect the programme. You will ensure the team stays on track and fulfils its obligations to external stakeholders, especially Ministers and Parliament. This is an opportunity to see how MOD and Government handle major strategic business and to be part of an iconic programme central to the UK’s future military and industrial combat air capability.

The post holders will provide excellent administrative management, support and project co-ordination and will work with colleagues across both the Head Office team and other teams within the wider Future Combat Air enterprise to ensure coherence of activity and delivery outputs. There will be opportunities to lead particular project and policy areas in the delivery of FCAS.

Given the wide-ranging nature of the work, the role should present the postholder with the opportunity both to build on their existing strengths and to develop new skills.

We actively seek to provide an inclusive working environment which gets the best from every member of our team, and which recognises team members for their commitment and professionalism. We are a learning organisation in which you will be encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge, building on our wide range of work areas, and given support to develop your career on your own terms.

We seek and encourage diversity of thought, background, experience and approach. We also recognise that everyone has different personal and family commitments and encourage applications from those who require flexible working patterns.
