Position within Hivos

The Bookkeeper will be a member of the Finance Team at our Global Office (GO) in The Netherlands. The team consists of 3 co-workers and you will report to the Finance Team Lead. You will have daily contact with Financial Officers, staff from other GO departments and different members of the Global finance community within Hivos.

Aim of the job

The Bookkeeper processes transactions and assists in preparing the financial accounting records and contributes to the overall functioning of the financial system.

Your responsibilities

• You take care of the financial administration of Global Office (GO). This means that you record financial transactions in the administration in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
• You process all incoming invoices, ensure the correct coding and prepare payments. This also includes taking care of international payments via banks and Stonex.
• In addition, you ensure that all bank transactions are processed in the administration in a timely manner and you keep the creditor administration up to date and ensure that a number of suspense accounts are regularly cleared.
• Support colleagues within the team as necessary and provide backup for vacations;
• Escalate accounting issues to the Team Lead in a timely manner as needed

Your profile

• 3-5 years work experience in a Dutch administration
• Praktijk Diploma boekhouden/MBO
• Good Excel skills
• Able to work independently
• Good communication and advisory skills
• Proficiency in both Dutch and English
