Job Purpose

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC or “the Federation”) is the world’s largest volunteer-based humanitarian network. The Federation is a membership organization established by and comprised of its member National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Along with National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Federation is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The overall aim of the IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” It works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.

The Federation is served by a Secretariat based in Geneva, with regional and country offices throughout the world. The Secretariat is led by the IFRC Secretary General and provides the central capacity of the International Federation to serve, connect, and represent National Societies.

The staff will be assigned to IFRC Country Cluster Delegation for Indonesia, Timor-Leste and Representative to ASEAN, Jakarta to support the HR and Admin Unit.

HR interns work under the supervision of the HR and Admin Coordinator to provide administrative support to the HR and Admin unit.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Updating Emergency phone tree and organogram;
  2. Preparing and sharing HR bulletin and reports;
  3. Updating birthday calendar for staff, create the e-card and send out;
  4. Store and Maintain HR and Admin unit documents (hardcopy and softcopy);
  5. Liaising with third party like Dinas Ketenagakerjaan (Disnaker) and Pengadilan Hubungan Industrial (PHI) to submit document and registration national staff contract;
  6. Assisting in the planning of HR events;
  7. Support recruiting and hiring process, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes and interviews arrangement;
  8. Assist in implementing and reviewing HR policies and procedures;
  9. Contribute to the development/maintenance of HR information systems and forms management;
  10. Support the Human Resources unit for day-to-day activities;
  11. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the line manager.

Education

  1. Be enrolled in a Master’s degree or in the final academic year of Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Have completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, but not exceeded one-year from date of completion of the degree.

Knowledge, Skills and Language

  1. Advanced skills in computers (Windows, word processing, spread sheets, Power point, email, etc.);
  2. Proven good judgment and ability to work with complete integrity and confidentiality;
  3. Work prioritization and ability to multitask;
  4. Ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment with a positive attitude;
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office; internet applications and graphic design software;
  6. Detail oriented;
  7. Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Indonesian languages.
