The department for Autoimmunity, Transplantation and Inflammation (ATI) within NIBR is investigating the discovery of innovative and transformative therapies to improve the lives of patients suffering from autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

We have an immediate opening for a Research Scientist in our Immunodermatology group in ATI. In this position, you will actively contribute to ongoing drug discovery projects as well as exploratory and target identification activities in the areas of skin diseases and fibrosis. Ideally, you should have hands-on experience in histology as well as practical experience in cell culture and biochemical assays (e.g. ELISA, qPCR).

Responsibilities:
Design, perform and evaluate experiments to characterize novel drug candidates for in various in vitro and ex vivo assays (e.g. cellular assays, ELISA, qPCR, western blotting, FACS)
Establish, perform and evaluate immunohistochemical stainings of various tissues
Work collaboratively as an integral part of cross-functional project teams, provide organized experiment record tracking and data analysis and be an active member of lab and project teams
Independently search for information in scientific and technical literature, establish new technologies in the lab and present your data within the team

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role
BSc or MSc degree in Biology or a related scientific discipline or completed apprenticeship as laboratory technician
Working proficiency in English.
Experience and good knowledge of histology/immunohistochemistry/fluorescence microscopy
Experience in cell culture and isolation of primary cells
Good working knowledge of a range of biochemical/molecular biology techniques (e.g. ELISA, western blot, qPCR)
Strong interest in working in a creative environment where you demonstrate proactiveness, a flexible attitude, collaborative spirit and scientific curiosity
