We are seeking a banking Payments Specialist for a prestigious international bank where you will be joining a small team, dealing with inward and outward payments including: SWIFT and BACs payments. This role is ideal for a 2019-2020 undergraduate to kick-start their career in the banking sector. Moreover, also ideal for a branch banking professional i.e Cashier, to develop their career in the back office of a prestigious bank.
Responsibilities
- Manually processing payments using SWIFT MT103, MT202, BACS, CHAPS and FPS
- Preparing transactions using various payment formats across multiple currencies and banking networks, ensuring accuracy and that transactions are processed within the relevant currency cut off times
- Proactive monitoring of intraday batch queues, manually repairing STP failures and processing cash flow movements to ensure that the business operates within agreed SLA’s
- Ensuring all payments are successfully cleared and reflected within the internal treasury system
- Direct debit processing (SEPADD) – ensure that all direct debits (domestic and international) are settled within agreed timeframes
- Investigate all STP payment exceptions and taking appropriate actions to correct and enable processing
- Processing of FX settlements
- End of day error checks ensuring processing queues are clear
- Investigating outstanding payments within SWIFT, liaising with banks and external counterparties to resolve transaction queries
- Performing internal account reconciliations and investigating reconciliation breaks
- Undertaking ad-hoc identity and KYC checks to verify payment instructions
- Suspicious payment activity monitoring and flagging such payments with compliance
- Identify and implement improvements to processes for efficiency and risk mitigation.
Requirement & Expectations
- Ideally hold experience of processing SWIFT payments in a banking role.
- We are also considering 2019-2020 undergraduates with work experience in the financial services that would be happy to start their banking career in operations.
- Hybrid working role based in West End, London and would be happy to commute 3 days a week.
