What will you be doing?
The role of the Treasurer Trustee involves
- General financial oversight;
- Financial planning and budgeting;
- Financial reporting to –
- statutory bodies;
- the Board of Trustees;
- operational managers of the Charity;
- Banking, book keeping and record keeping;
- Provision of Financial advice to the Board of Trustees.
You will ensure that these responsibilities are met, although the work may be delegated to volunteers and in this case you will exercise a supervisory role on the delegated work.
Time commitments include a quarterly Board of Trustees meeting (2-3 hours) and providing ad-hoc advice to the Foundation CEO and Board of Trustees.
What are we looking for?
As the Treasurer you will have the over-riding responsibility to ensure that the financial affairs of the YogoJo Foundation comply with all legal requirements and best professional practice and to ensure that the long-term financial stability of the organisation is not compromised.
You should
- Be qualified to hold the post of Trustee as set out in the Charity’s Articles of Association;
- Hold a recognised accountancy qualification;
- Be experienced in financial management as well as financial accounting, ideally at a senior level.
- Understand and appreciate the mission of the YogoJo Foundation;
- Be able to explain complex financial arrangements in a way that is understandable to non-finance professionals;
- Be able to work with people with diverse backgrounds and experience;
- Have high personal standards of integrity and financial probity.
