Working with the trustees of a successful Community Arts Centre and the appointed architects you will lead and develop the refurbishment of a Victorian building in the heart of Shrewsbury.

What will you be doing?

The Trustees of the English Bridge Workshop have been running a successful Community Arts Centre in a redundant Victorian school building close to Shrewsbury town centre for the last 30 years. We are close to completing negotiations for a long lease with our landlord, Shropshire Council, which will enable funding applications for the refurbishment and redevelopment of the building to enable better use of the site and increase community activity.

The present committee has the skills and resources to run the Arts Centre on a day to day basis but realise we need additional skills to move through this exciting next stage of our project.

We have recently appointed a Chartered Accountant as our new Treasurer and are looking for three additional volunteer Trustees in the following fields –

  • Arts Centre Development, to lead and develop the community engagement and future direction of the arts centre facilities and management.
  • Building Development, to lead and develop the refurbishment of the building working with the trustees and the appointed architects.
  • Fundraising, to help develop a fundraising strategy and act as a link between the fundraisers and the committee.

What are we looking for?

The present committee has the skills and resources to run the Arts Centre on a day to day basis but realise we need additional skills to move through this exciting next stage of our project.

  • Building Development, to lead and develop the refurbishment of the building working with the trustees and the appointed architects.

What difference will you make?
