As part of our activities in EAME, we are looking for:
Nursery Team Lead Sunflower and Cereals (M/W)
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Station Manager, you manage the activities of our Sunflower and Cereals nurseries, according to the defined production plan and the required quantity and quality.
The job is offered on a permanent contract, based in France/Saint Sauveur (31).
This position requires frequent business trips in our nursery in France/Grisolles (82).
And occasional business trips in Europe (workshop and visits).
Start date: September 2022
Accountabilities
You are responsible for the planning and implementation of nursery production activities: field and site work, seeds preparation, seeds processing, laboratory analysis and inventory, monitoring, and development of KPIs/performance indicators.
You coordinate and develop the team (permanent and seasonal workers), working on their level of expertise according to short and medium-term strategic matters.
You are responsible for the budgetary follow-up of your team, including the management of human and material resources.
As the technical manager, you control all quality standards, the management and inventory of nursery seeds storage, lead preparation meetings with the Breeding teams, prepare and validate the production plan…
You also work in collaboration with the Operations Manager, to manage the farmers network for the nursery fields, in order to deliver a quantity and quality of sunflower and cereal hybrids, in accordance with the plan.
Overall, you ensure efficient and effective communication with all stakeholders related to nursery production (breeding, planning, production, trials, nursery teams from other countries and continuous nursery production).
You ensure quality reporting on your activities and drive the continuous improvement plan.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree/ BAC+3 in plant production, you have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in R&D seeds production management, in a seed company.
Or Master/ Engineer degree/BAC+5 in plant production, with a successfully completed first experience (internship/apprenticeship/other) in R&D seeds production position in a seed company.
Experience in team management/coordination is appreciated.
Good understanding of seeds production, processing and preparation, trial mapping and regulatory requirements.
Good agronomic knowledge, ideally on sunflower and/or cereals crops.
As a team leader, you are a good communicant, organised and rigorous.
Good knowledge of Pack Office and production management software.
Experience with POWER BI/SmartSheet is a plus.
Professional English and French is essential to evolve within our multicultural organisation.
