We are looking to add to our MongoDB Employment Legal team. We plan to hire an exceptional lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, environment and isn’t afraid of lofty goals and challenges. This is a position and can be based anywhere in the USA or Canada.
Responsibilities
Provide counseling and support to our Employee Experience team, HR Business Partners and the overall business on employee contracts, terminations, performance management, investigations, accommodations, reorganizations, and other employment-related matters concentrating on North America based matters
Collaborate with other lawyers on the legal team with respect to advice and counseling provided to HR and other cross-functional partners
Stay up-to-date on labor and employment laws, regulations, and the legal implications of industry trends to develop and drive strategy
Coordinate and manage employment related projects, including internal process reviews, new policy roll-outs and implementation, customer requirements and training programs
Draft and edit employment-related documents, correspondence, agreements, processes and policies
Manage legal risks and provide solutions for resolving employment disputes
Manage and drive strategy on pre-litigation and litigation matters
Requirements
Licensed in US or Canadian jurisdiction and attorney in good standing
3+ years of experience in employment law (law firm or in-house)
Entrepreneurial and self-directed
Employment litigation experience and experience coordinating and driving large-scale projects to completion (including litigation)
Smart, passionate and driven
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Enjoy working hard in a fast-paced environment and overcoming challenges
Great leadership and teamwork skills and willingness to take on new responsibilities
Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment and handling and prioritizing multiple projects
