Your Tasks

• Build and strengthen technical expertise on the social and political participation and leadership of youth, in particular adolescent girls and young women, in our programme work, to continuously strengthen quality programming and knowledge management
• Provide technical advice and support to the department throughout the project management cycle in the context of development cooperation and humanitarian action
• Support the strategic orientation of the portfolio, develop technical guidance and tools, and work closely with other technical specialists on strengthening and mainstreaming youth-focused participatory programming across our thematic focus areas
• Providing technical advice to Plan International Country Offices, supporting assessments and analyses, workshops, etc.
• Active participation in relevant networks and working groups of Plan in Germany and Plan International, as well as relevant external networks

Your profile

• University degree in relevant field of study
• Several years of work experience in project development, project management, quality management
• Knowledge in the areas of youth participation in social/political decision-making processes, youth-focused participatory project design and project management
• Several years of experience in development cooperation and/or humanitarian action abroad
• Experience with the implementation/operationalization of the Compact for Young People in Humanitarian Action, in programmatic work with adolescents as part of the target group of young people, as well as in the field of gender transformative and inclusive programme work is an advantage
• Ability to work independently and on your own initiative, quick comprehension of unfamiliar issues and ability to work under pressure
• Very good MS-Office skills
• Very good written and spoken English and good German, additional language skills (French and/or Spanish) would be an advantage
• Ability to work in tropical regions and willingness to travel at short notice
• Team player, flexible and solution-oriented
