Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable Civil Engineer to support the delivery of a wide range of mine site infrastructure and heavy industrial plant design projects, as well as projects in the energy (hydropower, wind and solar power, biomass), mining and land-use planning sectors.

The Civil Engineer will play a key role in engineering projects, from feasibility studies, to design and field implementation. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, this role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional technical quality, the development of new business opportunities and nurturing the professional development of members of the Civil team.

In Addition, The Civil Engineer Can Expect To

Be a key member of structural and civil projects for mine site surface infrastructure
Participate in the various stages of the design and production of engineering documents associated with mine site surface infrastructure projects
Participate in elaborating structural, civil and utilities drawings
Design foundations, access roads, site services as well as structures such as mill and plant site infrastructure
Optimize and select preferred site layouts, major and minor structures, and ancillary services
Prepare feasibility studies and technical reports
Attend construction site inspections and audits
Lead all areas of project managements including estimates, quantity slips, schedule, and budgets
Establish key client relationships and actively participate in business development
Provide mentorship and coaching of junior engineers and designers, actively sharing knowledge and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural/civil or geotechnical engineering
Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience with a preference for experience in consulting
Registered P.Eng with EGBC
Able to support BBA’s mandate to visit our clients on site between 20% to 40% of the time
Proficiency in technical writing
Knowledge of the Civil3D
Proven track record of delivering projects of rigorous, high technical quality and exceeding client expectations
Hands on project experience in mine plant site and infrastructure design
Diverse portfolio of work experience in industrial and mining projects
Collaborative approach to finding innovative solutions to project needs
