Job Description

This remote position will be located in the Charlotte area

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Identity – Security, Governance & Tools team within the Identity & Remote Access group. As an Identity Cloud Engineer, you will provide subject matter expertise for critical Enterprise services while leading projects/initiatives as they relate to the design, implementation and support of major infrastructure technology. You’ll support end-to-end project implementation. You’ll collaborate with a diverse team to create and build flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience. You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with Information Security, Solution Design, Enterprise Architecture and other teams, while owning, maintaining and driving assignments to completion.

The Identity – Security, Governance & Tools team is accountable for Engineering, Operational Support & Service Ownership of CIBC’s Enterprise Identity infrastructure. This includes services such as Active Directory / Azure Active Directory, SSO services (Azure SSO, PingFederate), Multifactor Authentication (Azure MFA, RSA), Directory Synchronization services such as Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access Policies, Defender for Identity & Identity Protection, File Services Governance (Varonis DatAdvantage & DataPrivilege), to name a few.

The selected candidate will bring subject matter expertise, knowledge and experience engineering/designing, building, testing, deploying and providing 3rd level support of Azure services associated with a Zero Trust strategy – namely Azure MFA, SSO (OIDC, SAML, OAuth), SPNs, Graph API, SSPR and conditional access policies. Subject matter expertise of PingFederate, and experience leading migrations of SSO connections from PingFederate to Azure AD SSO, is a plus.

This role requires someone with strong solutioning, problem solving, organizational and time management skills. You will be responsible for providing level 3 support and analysis of technical issues, service outages and questions when they are escalated to you. You will be accountable for improving & maintaining production infrastructure services, collaborating closely with Operations Specialists and others inside and outside of your team to deliver on time and on budget. You will also provide consulting, guidance and support for other base and project related work.

How You’ll Succeed
Leadership – Provide technical leadership and best practices to infrastructure teams. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. You’ll manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities, using effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
Solution Design & Execution – You’ll design, develop and test emerging infrastructure and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions. You’ll provide senior level consulting in identifying and solving complex and highly critical issues, engaging vendors when necessary.
Remediation – Lead remediation efforts for critical security issues and vulnerabilities across multiple services & platforms, working closely and fostering close relationships with our Information Security partners. You’ll analyze data and services to identify opportunities for improvement in functionality, quality and validity, and recommend solutions that may cross multiple teams, functions, processes and platforms.

Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience and subject matter expertise in designing, building, implementing and supporting Azure MFA, SSO (OIDC, SAML, OAuth), SPNs, Graph API, SSPR and conditional access policies, with knowledge and understanding of how these services all play a role in developing a Zero Trust strategy. Well-developed oral, written communication and presentation skills are a must.
It’s an asset if you have: Existing knowledge of CIBC processes, standards and change management requirements; Experience producing strong technical documentation; Experience in a variety of roles/teams including, but not limited to, Operations, Engineering, Architecture & Security; Experience with scripting / automation (PowerShell) and other Identity services such as Active Directory, Radiant Logic Virtual Directory Services, AirWatch Directory Services, VMWare Identity Manager anCertificate Management.
You have a degree/diploma in a related discipline.
