AFC Operations Senior Investigator (Spanish-speaker)

We are seeking an experienced AML/CTF investigator excited to elevate our digital banking experience for the Spanish market applying the local regulation, while simultaneously supporting other European markets.

In This Role, You Will

• Support the broader AFC Operations team (Unidad Técnica de Prevención) in the investigations of complex Financial Crime escalations or cases of suspicious activities identified.
• Be responsible for enhancing our analysis, and expanding the processes in our procedures and rulebook, as well as identifying improvements related to our internal transaction monitoring systems.
• Draft and submit complex Suspicious Activity Reports to SEPBLAC and the corresponding authorities, prior escalation to the MLRO.
• Engage with cross functional teams to support specific AFC initiatives, or topics impacting other areas i.e. Money Laundering Reporting officer, Vendor Managers, Project Management Office.
• Be responsible for supporting the Complaints Management team of Spain, as well as attending phone calls from external parties (ie. other banks or authorities).
• Identify new money laundering typologies and suspicious patterns detected in the Bank or in the industry, and spread the message to the AFC Operations team by leveraging informative letters and providing practical training

What You Need To Be Successful

• You have a proven track record (min. 3 years) with relevant banking experience in Anti Financial Crime (money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, tax evasion)
• You have proven experience on Spanish AML/CTF regulation and handling reporting (ie. SARs, FTF) to SEPBLAC
• Experience dealing with Spanish AML authorities will be a plus
• Bachelor’s degree (ideally in law, business or finance) preferred, but not essential
• Advanced use of MS Office (G suits) skills for Excel and Word

• In-depth knowledge of European and local regulations on Financial Crime (AML, terrorism financing, fraud, tax evasion)
• You are fluent in English and Spanish (native speaker will be a plus), spoken and written
